The SAX2PR fits standard Savage Axis 2 Pro rifles with polymer stocks that have a recessed front sling swivel

Installation Instructions:

Installing the SAX2PR on your Savage Axis 2 Pro rifle is very straight forward.

  1. First remove the factory forward sling swivel and compression washer.
  2. Fit the 3D printed wedge block in the sling swivel recess to determine its proper orientation (it only fits in one direction).
  3. Snap the wedge block onto the pic rail segment, ensuring that the sling swivel mount is facing forward, and line-up the mounting screw hole.
  4. Place the snapped together unit into the recessed notch, install the provide mounting screw through the pic rail, wedge block, and into the sling swivel hole in the stock.
  5. Ensure the front set screw is not protruding below the bottom of the rail and tighten the mounting screw with medium force.
  6. Once the rail is tightened down on the wedge block and stock, start to drive the set screw into the stock until the screw is almost flush with the top of threaded hole (1.5 threads still showing above the hole).
  7. With a rubber mallet (or other means of protecting the rail) gently rap the front of the rail to set the point of the screw into the stock. Continue to tighten the set screw until flush with the top of the treaded hole. Your pic rail is now properly installed!
